Our time at Ebeltoft (08. - 09.09.2014)
Our next stop for our holiday in Danmark is Ebeltoft. As it is some kilometers away from Mariager, it took us some time to get here. After arival we relaxed at the campsite and enjoyed the sunset from the windows as it was really windy outside.

The next day we started exploring Ebeltoft. Our first way took us to an old ship called Fregatten Jyland. It is an old sailing ship and now it is part of a museum. We looked around at the museum and explored the ship.

In front of the museum we found a big apple to climb on ;)

Our way further on took us to the beautiful old center of the town with all its beautiful old houses.

We had a really nice day at the beautiful city of Ebeltoft.

A day at the "saltcity" of Mariager (07.09.2014)
Today we had a great day at Mariager. The history of that city is related to salt. Salters have been there in former times. Today a saltmuseum is reminding at that time. So in the morning we have been to Mariager Saltcenter.

We have seen a lot of interessting things at the museum-part:

A big peace of salt

A statue made of a big saltstone

How saltfish is made in Barells (no real fish inside) ....

Old and new design of salt-packages

To the saltcenter belongs a garden where we found a replicas of an old salt refinery with a salt pan inside and a brine concentrating house.

Salt pan - A man showed us how salt work is done

brine concentrating house

After this interessting impressions Mum and Dad relaxed at a small "Dead sea pool". The water at that pool has a alt concentration of nearly 30 %, so you can not really sink ... We could not jump in the water ourself, but Mum and Da said it was great.

The Pool

At the laboratory of the museum children and Toyvoyagers can make their own alt out of brine. So we did it ...

Saltwater in the pan

Can you see the first salt at the pan

Ready - Our salt souvenir

O.K enough salt for today.

At the afternoon we got on an historcal train-tour with an old train and a steam engine.

Looking around at the train

Sitting at the window and looking outside

Sitting at a bench - Together with our friend Weihny - This day was "bamse dag" (teddy day) at the train. Every child that has a teddy can use it as a "ticket" and die not have to pay for the trainticket - Anita took Weihny with her ...

Steam engine

Turining around the Steam engine back again at Mariager.

... What a great day!

Making candles (06.09.2014)
Today the weather was not so good, so we decided to make candles at a camdle-shop at Hvide Sande.
Here we could draw candles. We startet with nearly nothing only a wick. We startet with white wax. The colors are numbered and you are not allowed to go from a higher number to a lower one.

When the candles were thick enough we gave them a nice shape.

Then we took other colors.

When our candles had to get cold, we looked around and found another kind of candles people could make there.

And there are so many nice things they sell at the shop.

Lighthouse at Nr. Lyngvig (04.09.2014)
Today we did a cycling-tour to the lighthouse of Nr. Lyngvig. We were so excided what we will see there. Dad took us up to the lighthouse. We had a fantastic view from there.

Who is holding us at that photo? Oh, it was a really friendly owl ;)

And we have seen where the light comes from at night.

Here you say where Mummy has been during our visit at the lighthouse ...

Some views from the lighthouse ....

And finally before we left the lighthouse area we did some geocaching ...

A lst view to the lighthouse ...

What a great day!

Just a day at Hvide Sande (03.09.2014)
Today we cycled to Hvide Sande again. Today there was no special event, so we just looked around ...
For lunch we went to a restaurant and had Pizza. Anna and I looked around there. We found a playing room for kids and a car to drive on.

After lunch we went on to do some geocaching. The first place we have been leaded to was an old bunker. Really interessting. Mum told us, that she have been so closed to that plave very often, but they never noticed that there is a bunker. At some place you really need geocaching to find out about them ;)

A very typical plant at the west coast of Denmark is the dog rose. You can see us sitting at one of them ...

At the evening we wanted to look at the sunset, but it vas not really fun beacuse there have been sooooo many midges. So we just made a photo an didn't stay there to long ...

Royal guests at Hvide Sande (02.09.2014)
Today we had to stand up soon, because there was a special event at Hvide Sande today. At 9 o'clock the danish queen arrived with her ship "Danebrog" so, we cycled to the harbour to see the ship arriving.

The Danebrog was accompanied by a local sailing-ship called Maya.

When the ship had docked at the pier, we cycled on to the pier. At the way to the ship we have seen the queen and her husband in her car.

At the pier we met two people in traditional costumes ...

... had a closer look to the ship. It is great ...

... and watched the ship turining around.

In the afternoon we had time to relax at the beach. Where we had a great view to the sea and found a nice sandcastle.

When the Danebrog left Hvide Sande in the evening, we have been at the harbour, to say goodbye ...

Then someone offered us some food ...

One morning, when most people were still sleeping, we looked around what nice things have been created this weekend ...

someone is knitting a blanket.

We had a short look around the building, too.

At the end of our walk round the lake we found an information-center ...

Toyvoyagers-Meeting - Soltau (26.07.2014)
This weekend we have been invited for a birthday at Braunschweig on Friday. No photos to show from that day. On Saturday Mum went to a postcrossing-meeting at Soltau and we came wiht her for the toyvoyagers-meeting at the same place.
At Soltau we found a great big sofa, where we all jumped on.

Toyvoyagers

When all postcrossers had bought their postcards, we went to Breidingsgarten where we had a delicious dinner.

Essen

And we certainly looked around at the park a bit.
